TUNDRA ROPE ACCESS
Industrial Rope Access Services in Ontario and beyond, since 2011
Rope Access offers a safe, versatile and efficient access methodology across industries and sectors.
Since 2011 Tundra Rope Access has provided rope access services to a variety of industries and sectors where traditional access methods like scaffolding and boom lifts are not appropriate or less efficient.
We use highly trained SPRAT and / or IRATA certified technicians to safely reach work areas, reducing costs and shutdown times, and assisting with business continuity.
We are committed to increasing the safety of personnel who work at height by using modern and innovative rope access techniques combined with robust quality management systems and excellent back office support from our customer’s first contact to final administration.
Our customers come from sectors and industries including chemical engineering, wind energy, construction, painting and coatings, property and facility management, cleaning, and manufacturing, as well as public sector institutions like the Ontario Provincial Police and the Canadian Armed Forces.
Our services also include high angle standby rescue teams for situations where our customer’s staff are doing the technical work.
We are constantly evaluating new ways in which using ropes can solve access and safety problems for different industries. In short, any situation requiring a mechanical lift, crane, or scaffolding may also be suitable for rope access.

Case Studies
Construction: Water Main Sensor Cable Modification, Hybrid Confined Space and High Angle Safety
Our client, a very large water technology company, had a requirement to make modifications to sensitive instruments located almost 1km underground through a tunnel network.
Tundra Rescue successfully designed and implemented a hybrid access solution involving both high angle rope and confined space rescue technicians, and were specifically praised in client’s post-completion review of the project.
Building Maintenance: Painting of Amphitheatre Facade Over Water
Tundra Rescue deployed a team of rope access technicians to complete cleaning and painting of the facade of a popular amphitheatre in Toronto Ontario.
Our technicians completed the work while suspended on rope above water, where alternative access methods would have been challenging and restrictive.
The work was completed within a rigid timeline, exceeding customer expectations.
Wind Energy and Rope Access: Turbine Nacelle and Tower Cleaning
In response to a need for the cleaning of a wind turbine nacelle and tower, our technicians safely and efficiently gained access to the turbine exterior in order to successfully clean the structure.
Implementing a SPRAT two-rope Rope Access system, with in-depth onsite risk assessment, fully redundant backup safety systems and internal rescue capacity enable our teams to comfortably meet the demands of the project.
